It is conveniently nestled between the historic town of Wilmington, NC (25-35 minute drive) and the faster paced city of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (also a 25-35 minute drive). Visitors and residents alike enjoy 7 miles of pristine beach in a family friendly environment without the hustle and bustle of other popular east coast beach destinations.
So what makes Ocean Isle so "spectacular"? Aside from the above mentioned feaures, OIB offers vacationers a full array of activities to enjoy. These include watersports, mini-golf, shops, dining, fishing, close proximity to top-rated golf courses (keep in mind, you are just minutes from Myrtle Beach, fondly termed the "golf mecca" of the south!), and so much more! Oceanfront dining with stunning views, this establishment offers something for every craving. This isles is open for lunch and dinner, and also includes a tiki bar featuring island music and tropical cocktails. A must when visiting OIB. It doesn't end here, however, because who doesn't love some homemade ice cream after a fine lunch or dinner?! Another "must visit" is the Ocean Isle Beach Creamery. This quaint yellow building is visible as you cross over the bridge and onto the island. Over 24 flavors of homemade ice cream are made fresh daily... and boy are they yummy! The perfect way to wind down the day.
